With a slightly rocky launch to the While Guthix Sleeps quest chain released earlier this month, Old School Runescape devs, Jagex, is hard at work making some solid changes to ease the grind and align itself more towards player expectations.
Last we saw a slew of changes to the ‘Tormented Demons’ loot table after fan complaints and some balancing changes and this week we’re seeing even more OSRS updates, as well as new changes to the Deadman: Armageddon PvP mode they also released this month.
Today, we’re taking a look at the latest OSRS changes in both Deadman: Armageddon and While Guthix Sleeps OSRS content to get you up to speed. That said if you’re starting fresh in your journey through Gielinor and are looking for OSRS accounts for sale, check out U7BUY to find a plentiful selection with everything you need!
The Previous Hotfixes in WGS Quest
Before the upcoming OSRS update, there were some additional hotfixes the dev team managed to roll out last week to tweak the While Guthix Sleep quest chain. In particular, the hotfixes were aimed at making the grind with Tormented Demons a little easier.
These OSRS updates should already be live for you to try out in Old School Runescape:
- Removed permanent aggro for Tormented Demons. Initially implemented to reduce players from stealing other’s targets. This should make multi-way combat a little easier to manage.
- Tormented Demons have updated possible drop items with a rare chance to find Magic Longbows.
- Malicious Ashes no longer drop noted.
It is a little annoying that Malicious Ashes aren’t drop-noted since it does make farming a little harder to manage, but the rest of the changes are solid enough for a quick hotfix. The possibility of getting Magic Longbows and Tormented Demons not being permanently aggro does make things easier to handle while being more rewarding.
While Magic Longbows isn’t going to top the sales charts in the Grand Exchange since it’s becoming more common, you can get a quick top-up of OSRS Gold at U7BUY.
More OSRS Updates on the Way
Additionally, this week we can expect even more changes as well as some ideas that are still up for debate. For now, though, let’s check out the upcoming changes that’ve already been confirmed:
- Having ‘Purging Staff’ equipped increases Mark of Darkness duration.
- Blocked tiles found in Guthixian Temple will be removed.
- Guthixian Temple teleport item will be added to Tormented Demons’ loot table.
- New UI element when in Guthixian Temple to indicate how many demons they can fight at once.
- Broav can be housed inside your Player Owned House.
- Elite Black Armor & Dark Squall Robes can now be stored in the Player Owned House’s Costume Room.
- Emberlight can stand in for the Arclight for a Treasure Trail step within the Catacombs of Kourend.
- Colorblind-focused accessibility fixes.
So far, these are the new OSRS updates we’ll see sometime this week to address player concerns but they have indicated that they’re listening actively and coming up with new ways to improve the player experience, especially when facing off against dastardly Tormented Demons.
Here are some of the proposed changes that Old School Runescape devs are considering:
- Tormented Demons HP lowered from 600 – 520
- Tormented Demons Stab Defence lowered from 75 – 60
- Tormented Demons Heavy Ranged Defence lowered from 90 – 70
- Tormented Demons Magic Defence Bonus increased from 5 – 25
- Tormented Demons Minimum Defence lowered from 135 – 1
- Demonbane weapons can lower Tormented Demons’ Defence by at least 5%
These Demonbane weapons will receive these changes:
- Arclight and Burning Claws (per hit) will be 10%
- Emberlight will be 15%
- Scorching Bow will be 15%
- Purging Staff casting a Demonbane spell will be 15%
