Vaccines are essential. They give your child a direct defense against major diseases, and every parent needs to follow their shot schedule closely. But at AIMS, we always tell parents that a vaccine is just a specific shield. It trains the body to fight off massive, dangerous threats like polio or measles. It does not handle the everyday cold, the seasonal flu, or the minor stomach bugs that travel through classrooms.
Building a healthy immune system kids can rely on is a daily job. It happens at home, through the choices you make every single week, not inside a clinic. The immune system is a living, breathing network of cells. Just like a muscle, it needs the right fuel, plenty of sleep, and a bit of real-world challenge to grow strong. If we over-protect children from their environment or feed them poorly, their natural defenses simply do not get the training they require to function well.
